If you receive an error indicating "Database not available or does not exist." Repair the database catalog. A corrupt record usually happens when the server reboots without closing the database software.
- Open Datagate Database Manager on the Lawman server.
- Select "Tool" from the top menu
- Select "Repair Catalog"
- Select the proper database. In most cases, it will be "*Public/Lawman Data" and click OK
- It will prompt, "Do you want to continue?" Select "Yes"
- It will go through a long process of rebuilding the database.
- Please do not interrupt the program in this process, as it could cause fatal results in the database
- When the rebuild is complete, start Lawman Messenger, then all other Lawman programs.
- If error persist create a help desk ticket or call Lawman technical support.
Proper shutdown:
Stop the ASNA Datagate service before rebooting the server. Stopping the Datagate service allows the database to close all files correctly.
Open "services" and find the Datagate service. Find the ASNA Datagate or Datagate Server service. If you have trouble finding the service, look for a service description that includes "ASNA DataGate Server for Windows."
